The United States Postal Service – New Main Post Office for DeWitt, Michigan was a Design/Build project. Haussman Construction Company was the successful bidder.

The project consisted of Designing and Building a new 17,500 square foot facility on a 3-acre parcel of land. The Construction Cost is approximately $2,400,000. This project was given a notice to proceed on October 5, 2000 and Design was fast-tracked in order to break ground on October 19, 2000. This is a fantastic achievement for all parties involved.

The building is framed utilizing structural steel frame with metal stud framed exterior walls and a brick veneer. Interior finishes required meeting with strict USPS standards, and quality. This is a trademark for Haussman Construction Company, and our Owners representatives are very pleased with this project.

This project was hampered by the unusually harsh winter we experienced this past year. But despite the frigid temperatures, and the near record snow fall for December, our sub-contractors pressed forward with us to insure our project remained on track for completion. For Haussman Construction Company would not be able to complete these projects if not for sub-contractors like the ones used for this project.
