University Reformed Church Haussman Construction Company was selected by the Building Committee of the University Reformed Church to perform the addition to their existing church using Construction Management for project delivery. The project included a 9,000 square foot addition, and a construction cost of approximately $1,000,000. This project was completed costing the owner no more than originally budgeted. This project included the addition of an office area at the front of the building while also adding a two-story classroom addition to the rear. Remodeling portions of the existing structure is also included in the scope of the project. One of the difficulties overcome at University Reformed Church was the need to remain in operation while the construction engulfed the building. Haussman Construction Company was selected as a construction manager and was employed to work hand in hand with an architect to control cost of the structure. The design was analyzed and manipulated by Haussman Construction Company in order to bring the project down from an original construction cost of $2,600,000 to the building committees budget of $1,000,000.The structure is a exterior masonry load bearing wall system with structural steel interior support and roof framing. This structure presented a number of difficulties including very limited site access and building clearances due to the presence of vegetation as well as property limitations. Haussman Construction Company worked within these limits to deliver a quality final product. |
