Haussman Construction Company has been the contractor of choice for many credit unions. LAFCU (formerly Lansing Automakers Federal Credit Union) contracted with Haussman Construction Company to build their existing main office along with an addition and two branch facilities. The new main office was completed in August of 2004. This facility consists of 57,439 square feet of usable floor space spread across three floors. The facility also includes five drive-through lanes and two drive-through ATM's.   A new branch in Eaton Rapids is presently under construction.

The new facility was released for design in April of 2003 with the first shovel of dirt being moved in June of 2003.   The building progressed along the originally planned schedule while maintaining the original budget. While completing the building Haussman Construction Company also had to provide a 7 acre retention pond along with the associated infrastructure across the street to satisfy the county drain commissioner. In order to remain economical, the excavated soil from the pond was tested and compacted to provide the required fill in the parking areas for the credit union. This allowed the cost impact of the off site retention to be minimized.
